Denny did not record all that much during her career. She is not exactly a catalog megaseller, despite her fervid cult status. And there was already much notable unreleased Denny material bootlegged on the well-packaged Dark the Night CD and various other Fairport Convention, Fotheringay, and solo Denny bootlegs before the appearance of this disc, which despite the lack of a label name is 5/

The melody of "Fotheringay" was taken from an earlier song, in fact her first known composition, "The Tender Years" (also known as "In Memory"). A yet sparer version of the song, recorded by Denny as a home demo and featuring only her voice and guitar, was released on the compilation The Attic Tracks Vol. 3 (and on the bootleg Borrowed Thyme).

Universal Music will release a new ‘definitive’ collection of music by Sandy Denny’s short-lived folk/rock outfit Fotheringay in March. Nothing More: The Collected Fotheringay is a four disc set (3CD/1DVD) and content highlights include unseen TV footage, previously unreleased live recordings from August and seven tracks recorded in session for BBC radio.
